Ukulele Lessons
Small. Simple. Easy to carry and hold - the uke can be a lot of fun, great to bring out at parties or the park and good in a band or as an accompaniment to your singing. I usually introduce the student to the "Teach Yourself To Play Ukulele" book which covers the basics; mainly chords. We can then progress to strumming styles and finger picking once the chords are learnt. A great thing to do is to pick ANY song and I will work out how to transpose it to the uke from Beethoven to Beatles to Ed Sheeran!

Teaches students aged 5+
Silas first learnt the piano aged seven then moved onto percussion and guitar in his high school years. He has played throughout London and Melbourne for over 20 years and has over 10 years teaching experience, including many primary schools.
Silas’ goal is to not only take the student through the standard and necessary procedures of music technique and theory but to also make the experience enjoyable and fun. To do this, he can digress off the standard path (if requested) by asking the student what they want to do, no matter how far-fetched it may seem.
Silas graduated from the London Academy of Performing Arts in 1998 with a graduate in classical acting which included singing. He also studied (and passed in flying colours!) classical guitar in year 12. He loves all music and his own late guitar teacher once described him as a "Beatlologist".
