In these lessons students will work through specific exercises to gain a physiological understanding of the voice to improve tone, breath, intonation and volume. This technique is then put into action as students work through a diverse range of repertoire.

When looking at classical music, students will experience work from both Australian art music as well as international work. Students will learn to sing in other languages, such as Italian, French or German and learn how to put intention, truth and meaning into the classical work for performance benefit. I am also open to helping students work through the AMEB or Trinity classical voice exams.

When looking at musical theatre, I will provide music from a diverse range of shows spanning from the early 20th century to now. I also welcome students to bring in their own repertoire or song suggestions they are interested in working on.

When looking at pop music, I will provide numerous suggestions based on the individual's voice type, however I am also open to working on pieces that the student's provide.

Students usually spend somewhere between 1-6 weeks on a song, or longer if they are looking to perform it for something. Once the student and I are pleased with the song, I will film or voice record the piece to show the student's progression of work over their time with me.

About me:

Musical Theatre is where my voice personally sits best, so I take pride in teaching others something I love so much. In 2019 I was in the show, Aspects of Love at Hayes Theatre Co. as an onstage swing. I completed my AMEB Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam with a High Distinction (A+). I have been a lead in 18 musicals since the age of 5, including Ariel in The Little Mermaid with Stage Artz, Maria in The Sound of Music and Kira in Xanadu. I have completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre, and have worked as a children's entertainer for many years. I have been highly trained as an actress, learning at NIDA, ATYP, Screenwise and AIPA. In 2017, I won an international scholarship for the Hollywood Immersive through Starnow out of 12,911 people worldwide, which sent me to LA for training at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. This acting training has provided me with the skills to teach musical theatre specifically, not just singing. When it comes to musical theatre, I believe the most important thing is 'telling the story'. So students will learn to understand what they are singing about and provide meaning to every piece they sing, whilst using correct vocal technique.

I grew up singing with the Sydney Children's Choir, the premium art choir in Australia, producing the highest calibre of classical choristers in the country. I toured with the group to Europe, performing at Westminster Abbey and Notre Dame and was part of the children's ensemble for numerous operas with Opera Australia, inculding Carmina Burana and Jundamarra.I have completed Grades 6-8 Trinity Exams in Classical Voice with High Distinctions. I completed my Music 2 and Music Extension with a Band 6 in Vocal Performance, for which I performed a number of classical pieces. I have completed Grades 4 in both Musicianship and Music Craft as well as completing intense training over 3 years in sight singing. I trained myself with the renowned Peter Bodnar and Joel Curtis. I have also worked with Jennifer Peers and Gabrielle Fisher.
