Discover our tailored Music Theory Programs, meticulously crafted for candidates at various levels, preparing for exams such as the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), and the Trinity Guildhall of the London College.
Our content is intricately designed around the exam syllabus, encompassing major and minor scales, key signatures, rhythm, chord identification, melody composition, and more. For grades eight and above, our program expands to cover advanced topics, including four-part harmony, altered harmony, counterpoint, figured bass, trio sonatas, piano composition, orchestration, melody composition, chamber and orchestral work analysis, styles from different musical periods, basic musical forms, instrumentation, the structure and characteristics of musical instruments, and music history.
Experience a dynamic learning environment that combines theoretical explanations with simulated exam questions, mock exams, and regular assessments to ensure candidates are well-prepared for diverse exam scenarios. Outstanding student works take center stage at our student music concerts.

*In the Asia-Pacific region, students can opt for exams in either full English or bilingual papers. Secondary school students exclusively take exams in English. Tuition fees do not include textbooks, past paper practice, and exam fees, giving students the flexibility to purchase them independently or through the classroom.
*Grade 8 music theory is exclusively available to students in Year 7 or above, achieving at least Grade 7 on a musical instrument. Candidates must have successfully passed Grade 5 music theory and will undertake exams with full English papers.

Our program aligns with the syllabus set by AMEB AMusA and the Associate of Trinity College London (Trinity Guildhall) Diploma in Music Theory (AMusTCL). Dive into topics such as harmony, orchestration, arrangement, melody composition, piano accompaniment technique, and analysis of specified exam pieces. Outstanding student works are presented at our student music concerts.
*Applicants must have passed Grade 8 music theory or an equivalent qualification.

Caroline graduated from the esteemed Education Studies and Music Department of Hong Kong Baptist University, where her academic journey seamlessly integrated a major in performance and pedagogy in music with a specialization in child and adolescent development. This unique blend of expertise has empowered her to comprehend the intricacies of music instruction and tailor her teaching approach to the individual needs of her students.

As a versatile musician proficient in both piano and French horn, Caroline has actively participated in numerous international events, including the European Music Tour to Austria, Germany, and France, the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute in the USA, and Novacorda in the UK. In addition to her international pursuits, Caroline stands as the exclusive instructor of the WunderKeys Piano for Preschoolers (Age 3-5) curriculum in Hobart, Adelaide, and Sydney, showcasing her dedication to specialized music education for young learners. Caroline's commitment to excellence in music education has earned her noteworthy recognition, particularly when her students achieved outstanding success, securing multiple prizes in a prominent piano competition in Hong Kong. This remarkable accomplishment not only exemplifies her teaching prowess but also led to her being honored with both the Teacher's Award and Outstanding Teacher's Award in 2014. This dual recognition serves as a testament to her exceptional merit as an educator.

Throughout her illustrious career, Caroline has been actively involved in various musical organizations and events, showcasing her talents as the principal horn player in the Baptist Symphony Orchestra and as a guest artist in ensembles like the Symphonic Wind Band of the University of Science and Technology and the Symphony Orchestra of the Hong Kong Medical Association. Her artistic leadership is exemplified by directing numerous productions, including the musical "Love Overflows" for the Valentine's event at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel, and serving as the music director for over 100 public performances for M Stream Arts Studio.

Caroline is not only a performer and educator but also a pioneer in the realm of online teaching. Recognized as the Best Music Education Blog by Yahoo Hong Kong, her blog serves as a valuable resource in the field. She has organized various music workshops and students' recitals, such as "Snow White: A Music Story," "When the Children Meet Music," "Canadian Brass Workshop," and "Young Musicians' Recital." Her dedication to innovative teaching methods has earned her the Most Popular Tutor award in South Australia consecutively since 2020.
