Improvisation (Music) Lessons
- My improvisation lessons are most suitable for single-note instruments (e.g. saxophone, violin, flute, etc.).It can seem daunting at first, but with some guidance, improvising becomes an abundant creative and enlivening musical output.Within lessons, I strive to balance meaningful and practical musical development with technical improvement. Underlining everything though is to share in the satisfaction of music making. Enjoy those feel-good feelings and the stress release that is associated with playing an instrument.Let’s focus on:- Playing over a blues- Modal improvisation- Motivic development- The importance of rhythm and time feel- Transcription and analysis of the greats- Understandable and practical music theory- Music history- Free improvisation- So much more, there's so much scope to explore- Anything you wish to delve intoEach lesson includes follow-up teacher’s notes and appropriate supplementary materials sent to you via email.Learning music is fun, but does require focus, patience, and commitment. The rewards are worth it.For all ages and levels of experience.
