I am a professionally trained flautist and qualified music educator with a strong background in both performance and teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Teaching, and have over 10 years of experience teaching children and adolescents in a variety of learning contexts.

My teaching approach is grounded in clear structure, healthy technique, and musical understanding. I place strong emphasis on tone production, posture, breathing, and technical foundations, while also encouraging students to develop confidence, expression, and independent learning skills. Lessons are carefully tailored to each student’s age, ability, and personal goals.

I have experience supporting students in preparing for AMEB flute examinations, guiding them through technical requirements, repertoire selection, and effective practice strategies. At the same time, I enjoy working with students who are learning music for enjoyment, school programs, or personal development, and I believe that a positive and supportive learning environment is essential for long-term progress.

As a teacher, I am patient, encouraging, and highly organised. I value clear communication with both students and families, and aim to create lessons that are engaging, purposeful, and rewarding. My goal is not only to help students improve musically, but also to foster confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
