Banjo Lessons
What is it that you want to learn? What are your goals? What is in your way?
That’s what I’m interested in as a teacher. My objective is to help set things up so that you can learn what you want to learn. We collaborate in finding a process that leads to you achieving your goals.
I teach three-finger (bluegrass) banjo technique.
People tend to come wanting to play bluegrass, and later on they often find themselves more variety. I particularly enjoy branching out into other styles like metal, jazz, folk and world music.
I enjoy showing people how to apply standard banjo techniques to the styles they love. Learning the rules is important, and breaking the rules is a lot of fun!

As a qualified Alexander Technique teacher as well as being a guitar and banjo teacher, I can help you to play efficiently, meaning both a better quality of performance and less chance of injury. In the lessons we can balance technique, creativity, and expression in whatever combination is most inspiring and effective for you.
The process can be a lot of fun!
Every player is unique, with their own tastes, desires, psychology and physiology, so each student will respond has their own unique learning style. I enjoy learning about my students so that I can help them to achieve their own goals, in the way that works for them.
