Oboe Lessons - Believe in Music offers personalised lessons in piano, guitar, vocals, bass guitar, cello, oboe, theory, composition, songwriting and production. Yi-Ling and Toby are friendly, tertiary qualified teachers who are working professional musicians, passionate about sharing music! We believe anyone can be equipped with the skills to reach their musical dreams, and enjoy teaching a wide range of students from beginner to advanced, young to mature aged.Our oboe teacher Yi-Ling has a Masters of Music Performance from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, where she studied with Stephen Robinson (formerly of Orchestra Victoria), as well as her AMusA in oboe. She is passionate about helping students to reach their musical potential and to achieve their goals in a safe, structured environment. At Believe in Music we believe strongly in custom-tailored lessons for every student. If there is music you would really love to play, let us know so that we can tailor your lessons to incorporate it - even if there isn’t existing sheet music for it. For those interested in exams, we will also work together to determine the right level for you or your child and set you up for success - our teachers are high achievers in AMEB exams.We are conveniently located in Armadale near Malvern Central shopping centre, but are also willing to travel or teach remotely for maximum flexibility. Oboe Lessons - We will follow a program building on skills already mastered (even from absolute beginners) so that students have a strong foundation and can see how they are exponentially improving.Students will learn how to read the language of music- pitch, rhythm, notation and etc.and general music theory, the correct posture and embouchure needed to produce sound and general care of the instrument.Students will be introduced to playing "tunes" or pieces as soon as possible and will work through specifically selected repertoire that is both fun and gives them the practise on the particular areas of playing that they need to work on.I also teach the best strategies for most effective practise and maximizing improvement.I will also teach any other skills relevant to the student including exam preparation, performance approach and playing/working in ensembles etc.
