Chinese Zither Lessons
Lessons cover essential guzheng techniques while also developing an appreciation of Chinese traditional music and arts, allowing technical skills and musical understanding to grow together. Learning plans are personalised for different ages, levels and goals, with options to study traditional or modern repertoire, pop song arrangements, exam preparation, or simply enjoy learning favourite pieces in a relaxed and supportive way. Lessons are structured yet flexible, offering both depth and enjoyment in learning.

I am a guzheng specialist with over 10 years of teaching experience, currently studying a Master of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. I am also the founder of an arts organisation and have extensive experience in music performance and education in Australia.
I have been a member of the ANU Chinese Classical Ensemble for 14 years and served as Director of the ensemble in 2024, with regular experience performing as both a soloist and ensemble musician. These performance experiences strongly inform my teaching, particularly in musical interpretation, ensemble skills and stage confidence.
My teaching style is warm, patient and well structured. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, with a focus on technique, musical understanding and confidence building. I teach children, teenagers and adults at all levels, including exam and performance preparation, in a calm and supportive learning environment.
As a guzheng teacher, I also guide students to understand the cultural and historical context behind the music, helping them build a deeper connection to the instrument while developing strong musical foundations.
