Hi, my name is Henry playing Tenor, Alto and Soprano Saxophones for 42 years as sideman, performance artist, bandleader/arranger, recording artist. I have been teaching and mentoring for over 30 years, from beginners to intermediate students in schools, school bands, private and online tuition, as a bandleader.
I have ample experience to listen to where you are at, and what you may require, and in return give back what was given to me, by my mentors and teachers. It is a great asset to remain a student, if we can remain teachable, we can grow musically.
I was taught/mentored by, and performed with great Australian jazz saxophonist Mark Simmons, and renown Australian jazz pianist Bobby Gebert. Both were taught/mentored in New York School by George Coleman, and Walter Davis Jn respectively. And I have had many other teachers and mentors over the years.
Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, Sound, Embouchure , Tone, Intonation, Technical facility, Reading, Chord Charts, Improvisation, Arrangement, Composition, Learn The language of Music, Jazz, Latin, Groove, Soul, Blues, Pop any style and how to play that idiom.
I also have experience with home studio recordings, and creating backing tracks, to develop as a musician.
