Vocal Training Lessons

Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

For vocal lessons I start my classes with a warm up which goes through different exercises and techniques in consideration of what the student needs to work on (e.g, head voice, belt, breath work, mixed voice, lower range, etc). I then move onto repertoire work where we work through either something I have chosen that will help improve their technique and range or anything the student wants/needs to work on that they have chosen. I also sometimes work through small performance moments which can help enhance a song/piece. I always strive to find something that my student can work on throughout the week (e.g. straw breathing to help with breath work or mouth placement for belting).

I am studying a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where I have accumulated many theoretical and performance skills. I received a high band 6 in my Music 1 HSC and received the top of my class in theory. I was Choir Captain at my senior school where I ran a choir of over 100 students from Years 7-12 where I chose repertoire, ran vocal warm ups, and mentored students privately. I have consistently mentored High School years in music theory and performance where I tutored them in vocal practice and music exams. I was the choir captain at my school and received the award for highest commitment to the Arts.

I have been performing and learning under industry professionals since the age of 5, and I have participated in many vocal competitions where I was awarded 1st place. I have worked professionally in classical and musical theatre singing where I have accumulated a variety of vocal and performance techniques.

I believe that there are many different ways to teach one aspect of music, and that every student learns differently. I strive to find a solidified method for each of my students and aim to do this through my years of vocal and theory training in which I can provide an array of ideas and practices. I aim to be a fun, empathetic and hard working teacher and attempt to bring this for each and every one of my students.
