Violin Lessons
I teach classical violin, at all levels.
Students can expect:
For beginners - a detailed guide on foundations of violin technique, including how to hold the instrument and bow comfortably & how to tune the instrument, how to produce sound with the bow, how to begin to play with the left hand fingers. This is incorporated in a holistic way with building foundational skills - how to read music and notation, how to listen to music, how to feel rhythm. I use a mixture of pedagogical resources, including Kodaly musical training and Suzuki violin training.
For Intermediate and Advanced - I will assess where you are in your violin journey and how I can best assist you, be that musically or technically. I work both from AMEB curriculums and self-devised curriculums. My goal is to see how far you can expand as an instrumentalist and an artist - to develop your ear and your technical skills concurrently, so you can achieve any musical goal you have.

Hi! I'm Anna, a violinist, singer & a teacher. I've been playing the violin for as long as I can remember and teaching for almost that!
I graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor in Music (1st Class Hons) in 2018, and recently completed a Masters in Music with Distinction at the Zürich University of Arts.
I have extensive experience in teaching, both in person and online. I was an instrumental teacher at various schools in Adelaide (Wilderness, Loreto, Unley Primary, and more) and taught privately while undertaking my studies in Switzerland. I have also provided incursions to kindergartens, concerts that serve as introductions to music for very small children, and am an experienced ensemble tutor and conductor.
My focus during lessons is made up of two simple parts - developing instrumental/musical skills, and fostering joy of music and learning. I do this from the beginning by guiding a student through the foundations of good violin technique and note-reading while incorporating games and pieces that make learning fun and a good experience. For more advanced students, I can offer detailed musical and technical advice while fostering their love of music and growth as an artist.
My instrumental teachers during my studies were some of the most important and meaningful figures in my life - music has the potential to change lives! It's my aim and goal to be one of these figures for the students I teach.
