I am currently in the process of attaining my dual degree in nursing and midwifery through the University of Queensland. Some activities I enjoy during my weekends are running and swimming which helps me relax and reset for the upcoming week. I decided to commence tutoring as I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to help students achieve their best and inspire them on a personal and academic level. It enlightens me to see how energetic a student becomes as soon as they understand something they initially struggled with. The determination and enthusiasm that stirs within a student is heart-warming. It brings me such a sense of joy to gain insight into my students views and opinions about certain concepts and knowledge content. As an educator and mentor it is very important that I make sure that each and everyone of my students are able to learn as well as enjoy the process of learning. I believe one of my biggest strengths is being able to do this effectively and efficiently. I adhere to all learning styles while teaching. I present my students with a wide variety of methods to accomplish their goals while teaching. I think it’s important to be open minded and teach my students that there is always more than one way to do things and learn. Through previous years of tutoring, I have attained the skill and experience to coach students to understand and grasp concepts no matter their learning pace/capacity and skill level.
