Sarah has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Sydney Lyric Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Australian Youth Orchestra. Sarah has performed as a chamber musician throughout Sydney, Canberra and Asia. For 10 years Sarah owned and operated Aviento, a business which provided musicians for functions. With Aviento Sarah performed at hundreds of events across Sydney.
Sarah has taught in schools across Canberra, Sydney, London and Hertfordshire in the UK. Sarah has prepared students for AMEB, ABRSM and Trinity exams, as well as Suzuki graduations. Sarah also feels extremely lucky that her mother, Beverley Broughton, is a specialist in childhood development and learning, and she has been an enormous inspiration and help with teaching. Sarah is the author of the Best Start Music Lessons books which introduce the foundation of musical skills and knowledge to young children.
Sarah is indebted to her flute teachers and is so lucky to have studied with: Vernon Hill, Virginia Taylor, Alison Mitchell, Paul Edmund Davies and Gareth Davies, who have provided her with such a high level of instruction and inspiration.
