Carl and Ruth Nielson Cultural Trust award recipient Johan K. is equally at home as soloist on piano and pipe organ. He is a prize winner in various Eisteddfods and competitions and also founded an annual masterclass and recital providing regional music students the opportunity to be coached by internationally established musicians.

Johan is currently undertaking his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University under the guidance of the prestigious international piano competition “Music de chamber” grand prize recipient Oleg Stepanov for piano and pipe organ under internationally acclaimed Australian organist Christopher Wrench. He has also worked with award winning pianist Natasha Vlassenko, John Curro AM MBE and the late Richard Gill AO.

Currently living in Brisbane, Johan is organist in residence with the Queensland Youth Orchestras, Ann Street Presbyterian Church, St Paul’s Anglican Church and St John’s Presbyterian Church. In addition to performing, Johan shares his love of music teaching students of all ages and experience.
