Acoustic Guitar Lessons
The guitar can be hard on your fingers to start with so with begin by easing you into the basics. I have some set standard books we use but am willing to learn from a book chosen by the student if that's what they prefer. We can cover classical, rock, folk, blues and sometimes a little jazz. I also teach electric guitar. Sometimes I like to veer off the path and ask the student "is there a song you would like to learn?" to which we can use our ear and improvise. You will learn to read standard music notation and/or tablature. Overall, I like to make the experience fun!

Teaches students aged 5+
Silas first learnt the piano aged seven then moved onto percussion and guitar in his high school years. He has played throughout London and Melbourne for over 20 years and has over 10 years teaching experience, including many primary schools.
Silas’ goal is to not only take the student through the standard and necessary procedures of music technique and theory but to also make the experience enjoyable and fun. To do this, he can digress off the standard path (if requested) by asking the student what they want to do, no matter how far-fetched it may seem.
Silas graduated from the London Academy of Performing Arts in 1998 with a graduate in classical acting which included singing. He also studied (and passed in flying colours!) classical guitar in year 12. He loves all music and his own late guitar teacher once described him as a "Beatlologist".
