Students can expect a comprehensive and engaging piano learning experience. With personalised lessons tailored to each student's unique needs and goals, my approach ensures a balance between theory and practical skills. I incorporate a variety of teaching styles, including classical, contemporary, and popular music, to keep lessons exciting and diverse.
My lessons are structured to build a strong foundation in music theory and technique, progressing to more advanced pieces and performance skills. I believe in nurturing creativity and self-expression while maintaining a fun and supportive learning environment. By focusing on individual progress and offering detailed feedback, I help students achieve their musical potential and develop a lifelong love for piano.
Why learn from me? With a background in both performance and education, I bring a wealth of experience and passion to each lesson. My goal is to inspire and motivate students, making their musical journey as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. Let's unlock your musical potential together! ????

Hi there, I'm Tehara, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself as your piano teacher. With a passion for music that has spanned over a decade, I've had the pleasure of guiding students through their musical journey, from mastering their first notes to performing in front of an audience with confidence.
My educational background includes a Diploma in Pianoforte (Recital) from the London College of Music (DipLCM), where I was awarded the prize winner for the 2018 Winter season. This accolade is a testament to my dedication and skill in piano performance, which I aim to pass on to my students.
My teaching experience is diverse and enriching. Most recently, I have taught at Hobsons Bay Music Academy in Australia as a part-time piano teacher, where I organised and managed student concerts, provided performance training, and prepared students for exams through detailed coaching and mock exams. I also had the opportunity to design and implement customised music curricula at Notes Music School, catering to each student’s unique learning style and making music education both thorough and engaging.
Prior to my time in Australia, I was a self-employed piano teacher in Sri Lanka for five years. During this period, I delivered personalised piano instruction tailored to individual student needs, integrating both theoretical and practical skills. I believe in making learning fun and inspiring by teaching children to play their favourite songs, which not only enhances their enthusiasm but also fosters a lifelong love for music.
As a person, I am patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping students achieve their goals. My teaching philosophy centres around building a strong foundation in music theory and technique while encouraging creativity and self-expression. I believe that every student is unique, and I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment that nurtures their individual talents.
In my lessons, students can expect a blend of structured learning and creative exploration. Whether preparing for exams, performances, or simply learning for the joy of it, I am committed to making each lesson a rewarding experience. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you unlock your musical potential.
