Violin Lessons
Violin students will be receiving tuition based on the knowledge I have amassed from some of Australia's leading pedagogues. This will include thorough technical training, from initial setup right through to the delicate adjustments required to master complex works. I can accomodate students from all backgrounds of knowledge and I love starting with beginners to help them get on top of this wonderful instrument in as fun a way as possible.

Teaches students aged 4 to 80
I have been exploring music and sonic art since a young age. With piano and cello tuition starting at age three followed by classical guitar, viola and violin from age eight I received tuition from Queensland's leading pedagogues (including luminaries Michelle Walsh, John Curro and Graeme Jennings) whilst completing a Bachelor in Performance (classical) at the Griffith Conservatorium at age sixteen. In 2019 I completed an honours degree with distinction (in classical performance) from the University of Tasmania with a paper on resonant bodies, followed by Masters in music from the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam, graduating with a honours grading in 2022.
As a teacher I have engaged with hundreds of students across a very wide age bracket. Lessons are focused on the students individual needs, should that be exams (AMEB, ANZCA and Trinity), VCE/VET assessment or contemporary music desires. The lesson's will always feature some technical training, with a strong emphasis on physicality (comfortability of the instrument handling being a big facet of the technique) and reading abilities. From this base I work to extend the students understanding of their given motivations - I always work with enthusiasm and with an open communication style - I don't facilitate hierarchical standpoints with my students (everyone has something to learn, from teacher to student and vice versa).
My experience has had me work with Hobsons Bay Music Academy, Viva School of Music, Newhaven College and Blackburn High School and I am always happy to share positive references from all employers for the prospective student to review.
Brief performance CV:
I have performed in over 900 orchestral and chamber music performances with ensembles including the Australian International Opera Orchestra, Kammerphilharmonie Cologne and toured China six times (four times as a principal viola player). Whilst in Europe I had performance engagements for works included the premier of the opera "Adios" by Bela Braack at the Nationale Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam (which featured heavy use of ambisonic effects), the premier of Arnold Marinissen's work "SCRAMBLED" with the Asko Schoenberg ensemble inside Amsterdams legendary Bimhuis, an eight hour sound and architecture installation "Stay at Home" as apart of the Copenhagen IT university which ran for six months from September 2022 and the feature scoring of The Dansk Filmskoles feature length "Helvete".
