Trumpet Lessons
Beginner Trumpet Lessons (30 minutes)
Beginner lessons focus on setting up correct trumpet technique and progress quickly into playing music familiar to the student. The challenging nature of trumpet playing means that these first few lessons are fundamental in setting up instrument technique and good habits on the trumpet. Typically beginner lessons are 30 minutes in duration, allowing sufficient time to present new concepts, and repertoire and consolidate prior learning. You can begin playing the trumpet at any age, however an ideal time to begin is between 10 and 14 years old. Beginner students older or younger are welcome.
Intermediate Trumpet Lessons (45 minutes)
Intermediate trumpet lessons cater to students who have been playing for approximately 1 year. In intermediate lesson look further at refining correct trumpet technique and continuing to play repertoire the student is interested in. As the basic mechanics of trumpet playing become innate in the student lessons focus in greater part on musicality and repertoire. The recommended length of an intermediate trumpet lesson is 45 minutes in duration, allowing student the time to approach greater musical challenges.
Advanced Trumpet Lessons (60 minutes)
Advanced trumpet lessons cater to students with upwards of 3 years playing experience and are best suited to students in Years 10, 11, and 12 — for whom trumpet playing is a particular extracurricular focus, or for students working towards tertiary entrance auditions for Universities and Music Academies. In advanced trumpet lessons we tailor the lessons towards essential technique, repertoire and meeting audition requirements.
