Piano Lessons

Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate

I specialise in teaching one on one lessons covering the following: Playing for pleasure, Sight Reading, Preparing for AMEB practical exams, Correct posture and hand positioning, Music history, Oral components and Preparing students for performances.

Learn from a classically trained teacher who adjusts teaching style to suit the student’s needs. I also teach different styles and genres at the student’s request. I am a firm believer that every student should learn to read music as this enables them to play any music or transition to other instruments in the future. I believe the most important part of teaching is that students have fun while playing music.

About

  • Female

  • Teaching since 2013

  • Teaches students aged 6+

I have been playing the piano since I was eight years old. I have studied up to
Grade 8. I studied under a highly qualified teacher and AMEB examiner who
must have seen something in me, as she began melding me to teach piano
from a young age.

Teaching piano is the only work I have ever truly enjoyed.

I moved to Bethanga in 2018 after having worked in Melbourne for several
music schools and academies and also running my own successful studio.

I am a classically trained pianist and adjust my teaching style to suit the
student’s needs.

I prefer to utilise the Alfred’s Basic Piano Library workbooks as my starting
point. These books provide a good introduction to all aspects of piano playing
and give the student a future reference if needed.

I also teach different styles and genres at student’s request.

I am a firm believer that every student should learn to read music as this enables them to play any music or
transition to other instruments in the future.

I am well versed in teaching
• Children and adults
• Playing for pleasure
• Music Theory
• Sight Reading
• Preparing for AMEB exams (practical and theory)
• Correct Posture and hand positioning
• Music History
• Oral components
• Preparing students for performances
• Most importantly, how to have fun while playing music

Piano lessons with Elizabeth are great. Learning online is not the barrier I thought it would be, Elizabeth makes communication very easy and she is very supportive.

I’ve returned to playing after a 30 year break and I couldn’t be happier with Elizabeth’s lessons.

The remote setup works really well and the pace of learning is perfect for me.
