Hi my name is Richard and I am a guitar teacher based in Aveley.

Guitar Lessons

Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Hi I teach guitar. My teaching initially focuses on learning chords, melodies, and scales. But I will also have you learning songs from as early as lesson 2. I will have you playing at least a handful of songs of varying complexity within your first three months of learning. These songs will be a mixture of old and new songs by artists such as Ed Sheeran, Queen, Shawn Mendes and Greenday. Lastly but not least I have truckloads of patience.

  • Teaching since 2011

  • Teaches special needs

  • Teaches students aged 7+

I have been either playing or teaching guitar for most of my 47 years. During my younger years I played in a variety of rock bands for two decades playing music by bands as diverse as The Police, Queen, INXS, AC/DC and Metallica.I also studied classical guitar for 5 years as a bit of a side project where I learn how to read music. These days I am purely a guitar teacher, which I have been doing for the past 8 years. Most of my students tend to be beginners, but I can also cater for intermediate to advanced students as well. I have a current working with children card and approximately half of my students tend to be kids. I also have had experience with special needs students. My tuition is based upon learning the basics of chords, scales and a bit of theory, plus learning how to play heaps of songs by the likes of Ed Sheeran, Queen, Pink Floyd, Shawn Mendes, Greenday and more. Ideally I would like to have you able to play 6 songs of varying complexity within your first 3 months of learning. I am quite progressive in my teaching methods and have begun to delve into teaching via Skype and I am in the process of creating a video lesson programme, which I will accompany via Skype lessons, which I am looking to branch out with across WA and into the Eastern States. I am currently only teaching part time in the evenings and on weekends but later on in 2019 I will be looking to begin teaching guitar full time. Lastly but not least, I have truckloads of patience. I hope to hear from you soon.
