Students can expect to learn and play the trombone with skill and precision. Lesson structures will depend on the level of the student and the concept being focussed on. Most lesson structures work with at least 20 minutes playing pieces, excercises, techniques and approx 10 minutes of discussion and feedback.Show More Show Less

My name is Fernando and I'm 19 years old studying Music at the University of Newcastle. I was born and raised in Carlingford/Hills area and only recently moved to Newcastle to persue my music career. I have been playing trombone since primary school and have always been passionate about teaching.
I have played in numerous bands and ensembles from school-based programs (such as Concert Bands and other small ensembles) to other bands such as the NSW Public Schools Millenium Marching Band and the UoN Arts Orchestra. I have had experience in the music trade playing professional gigs and musicals such as the Loud Theatre Company's 'The Suessical'. I have grown up with and had the privellage to teach kids and adults with special needs.
When my friends and family are asked about my personality, most respond with saying "Fernando is a genuinely nice guy". I am kind and fair to all and have shown previous leadership qualities through programs at school and with Scouts Australia.
I try to make every lesson as enjoyable as possible without sacraficing progress towards skill with the trombone and other brass instruments. I can teach all brass but I specialise in trombone.
