Singing Lessons

Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

I teach Contemporary vocals, which includes most popular styles of music.
I recommend a 30 minute lesson for most students, but for advanced/adult students a 60 minute lesson can be more appropriate, however we can discuss this in the first lesson.

Lesson structure is generally as follows:
5 minute warm up
10-15 minutes of technique practice (this includes working on range in different registers, breathing, vocal flexibility, healthy vocal technique, etc)
10-15 minutes working on songs of students choice (provided the song is challenging for whatever vocal technique we're currently working on)

In lessons with me, students will learn healthy and proper vocal technique in every area of singing, and will learn to sing and perform with confidence and comfort.

Hi, my name is Carolyn and I'm a WAAPA educated singer from Perth, WA. I have been teaching for the last 3 years since I graduated my Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Vocals), and have had great success with my students, all of whom are of varying ages and experience levels. My approach to teaching is different for each student, because I believe that every student learns a particular way and I find it extremely rewarding to be able to deliver effective content to each of my students in a way that makes the most sense to them. The principles of vocal technique that I teach are simple and effective, and I have seen great success in so many of students through them.

As well as being a singing teacher, I am also working in the music industry as a performer, which includes singing in a duo, a cover band, a tribute band, my original band and also working as a session musician for other bands.
As I stated previously, I have obtained my Bachelor of Contemporary Music from WAAPA, which was a 3 year degree that taught me everything I know about singing and set me up very well for a career in the music industry.
Currently, I am running my own private vocal tuition business, but I have also worked in music academies, including Mega Music and School of Rock (where I am currently still working), and have done relief work in schools as a vocal teacher.

Please get in contact if you're interested in lessons, I'd love to hear from you!
