Teaches students aged 5+
I have been teaching piano and theory for almost 17 years. I have experience teaching students of all ages from beginners to Grade 8 piano and Grade 5 theory. I have ATCL in piano, BMus(Hons) in composition and Grad. Dip. in Arts (subjects included psychology, education and ethnomusicology) from the University of Auckland, NZ.
I have Master of Music Therapy degree from the NZ School of Music and I worked as a Registered Music Therapist in Auckland for 5 years. While music therapy employs different approaches to that of education, my experience working with children and young adults with special needs has had positive impact on how I interact with young students.
I am also happy to teach those who would like to learn piano for leisure, play chords and sing. I have experience singing in choirs including NZ Youth Choir, church choir and worship band.
I am able to teach in both English and Korean.
