Teaches students aged 6+
I have an AMusA (Cello), and have been teaching in schools and in my private studio for nearly 12 years. I can prepare students for AMEB exams if desired (all of my exam students have achieved B or higher, across all grade levels); or my students may choose to work through the relevant syllabus material without sitting exams.
I teach imaginatively and empathically, and with lots of encouragement, because I believe that students who are enjoying their learning will be motivated to practise, and will be able to relax into giving their best and exploring their own musicality. I emphasise rigorous work on scales and studies alongside the solo pieces at the relevant grade levels, so as to systematically develop technical skills.
As a freelance cellist, I play in various local orchestras and chamber music groups in the Brisbane area.
