JAZZ LOVER, MUSICAL THEATRE TRAGIC.
I have over twenty years of training and experience in the performing arts. I have studied music, drama and dance one way or another since the age of four when I began as a classical ballet student. In my teens I developed a love of Golden Age Hollywood musicals which led me to singing lessons and a particular interest in jazz, cabaret and music theatre.
As well as ballet and singing, over the years I have studied classical and contemporary piano, tap, Broadway jazz and contemporary dance, Practical Aesthetics acting and the Viewpoints system, physical theatre and commedia del'arte, classical, contemporary and Australian theatre, jazz, contemporary and musical theatre vocal styles and more. I have performed at venues such as The Schonell Theatre, The Troubadour (now Black Bear Lodge) and the Concert Hall at Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
In 2009 I completed a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Drama and Creative Industries Management at Queensland University of Technology, and in 2016 I completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at Southern Cross University in Lismore where I majored in Music Education and Vocal Performance.
Prior to beginning work as a private singing teacher, I taught dance and movement classes to 2-5 year-olds in childcare, after-school drama classes to primary school children, and private and group singing classes to dance students at a dance academy.
