I teach beginner to advanced saxophone, with strong goals in place to work towards success. Utilising a wide variety of music, I ensure to introduce students to many forms of saxophone music, from traditional classical pieces, to many genres of jazz and beyond. By discovering a student's musical interests, and using that in conjunction with styles that are adapted to their learning, I aim to effectively teach and promote student growth when learning the saxophone. I enjoy teaching outside the box, using teacher method books alongside higher level studies to explore various aspects of the instrument, such as tonality, intonation and even teaching techniques of improvisation.Show More Show Less

Teaches students aged 6+
Hi, I have recently completed my Bachelor of Music Performance: Jazz Saxophone at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. I enjoy a wide range of music, from classical to jazz, rock to fusion and many in-between. My focus is providing enjoyable lessons that allow for strong development of a student and utilising teaching methods that accommodate a student's interests and learning styles.
Specialising in jazz, but with heavy classical experience, I have performed with both large and small group sizes in various venues from Brisbane City Hall, the Queensland Performing Arts Center to various bars, clubs and restaurants. I currently teach at both primary and high schools and tutor for AMEB exams (grades 1- 6). Happy to teach all ages, beginner to advanced saxophone.
