Teaches students aged 7+
Lisa has 17 years experience teaching in her home studio and in Queensland schools. She has taught all ages (from 6 to 60) and all levels (from beginner to AMEB and Trinity grade 8). Lisa’s students have an excellent record of results with exams, eisteddfods and performances.
Lisa was the Flute Tutor at Good Shepherd Lutheran College, Noosa for 9 years, Instrumental Tutor at St Andrew’s Anglican College, Peregian for 4 years, and Principal Flute and Piccolo of the Noosa Orchestra for 6 years. Since moving to Brisbane, she is the Woodwind Tutor at Grace Lutheran Primary School and she now performs with Orchestra Concertino in North Brisbane (Flute & Piccolo) and Classic Clarinets of Brisbane.
Lisa tailors her lessons to suit each individual. For very young students, she uses games and activities to enhance learning. For students involved in ensembles, solo performing and exams, there is an emphasis on developing confident performance. For adults who want to learn just for personal enjoyment, there is flexibility of styles and Lisa encourages self-directed learning.
All students are encouraged to play in Lisa's student recitals which are held twice yearly. These are a very friendly and non-threatening way for students to start performing for others. As they advance, they play with piano accompaniment.
